Cross stitch is cool... no, really!
Mention cross stitch and 'cool' is not the likely response. Well not anymore, as cross stitch is the new medium of artistic self expression, and it's cropping up everywhere.
Out go twee cottages and woodland creatures and in come Banksy replicas, Spring fashion at Topshop - even the cover of Grafik has featured the cross stitchers' skills.

Knowledge is a commodity. Discuss
While Colleges and Universities may see themselves as 'communities of learners' many students (and their parents) see themselves as 'consumers and stakeholders' of this experience. Fees (and the debt that accrues) as well as academic excellence could be uppermost in their minds as they make their final selection. Colleges and Universities will need to work much harder to win their custom and it may be that traditional marketing approaches are not enough.
'Sterling has a large portfolio of prospectuses designed and printed by the company' says Marketing Director Chris Timm. He goes on to say 'The FE or HE marketing mix may well have a prospectus as we know it, but as our web based MyProspectus has proved, targeted and personalised communications are more likely to engage and persuade the intended audience. Future integrated campaigns will offer a mix of digital design, PURLs, YouTube, blogs and social networking. It may appear bewildering to the uninitiated, but the young people that our clients are trying to reach are totally familiar with these media.'

Never make a cup of tea again
The competition for the best iPhone App, in the Kettering design studio, hotted up this week with the introduction of the Two-Face Coin Toss to decide who makes the tea.
Using the Good Harvey/Bad Harvey coin, from the latest Batman movie, set to cheat mode, means that Gail has not made a single cup of tea since last Monday!
The others are beginning to get suspicious...
Buy the Two-Face Coin Toss App on the iTunes store for £0.59
